The Malminkartano community garden is a free and open Pop-up garden, for local residents to grow food in urban environment.

The aim is to increase community spirit, grow your own food together with others, and create a comfortable and safe environment in Malminkartano.

This year Niilo and Tuomas will be hosting the joint gardeningday once a month: First wednesday of the month 3pm. - 6 pm.

Free Gardenbox

Each farmer gets one growing box and can bring their own pots and boxes. In addition, there are shared boxes and two giant pumpkins are planted in the area.

You can grow any plants you want in your own box and you are responsible for the well-being of this box. Watering in the garden is carried out in watering shifts, meaning all boxes are watered every third day. Each farmer has two watering shifts during the summer, when you and two other farmers water all the boxes.

Reserve your own watering schedule for the summer, when you water all the boxes at once.

If you have to cancel your appointment, ask the Whatsapp group for help.

Watering is best done in the morning or evening when it is cooler.

If it rains, you don't need to water. The sky will take care of your turn.

There are watering cans on site.
