Jamppa Community Garden 2026

We are renewing the growing boxes in Järvenpää's Jampa for the 2026 season and the summer season promises to be a relaxed gardening experience in good company

The community garden is being implemented by the City of Järvenpää and Blokgarden's gardeners are joining in to help the farmers and coordinate the activities.

The goal of the garden is to increase the community spirit of the area, provide an opportunity to grow your own food together with others, and act as a cozy and safe place to spend time.

There is room for 30 people and each person gets their own growing box. We also bring pots and boxes for shared plants.

Each farmer is responsible for the well-being of their own plants, but watering is done communally. Everyone waters all the boxes on their own watering turn.

The season starts in May with joint planting. You can plant your own seedlings in your box or we will also bring ready-made seedlings for you to use. We help to start a farming community and during the summer we have several community gardening days where our gardeners are there to help and advise.

Support Gardeners

During the summer, Blokgarden gardeners Niilo and Tuomas support the growers.

You can meet us in the garden on community gardening days and reach us in the growers' WhatsApp group.

It's easy to message and ask about garden-related matters in the WhatsApp group, and you can reach other growers in the Facebook group and share your plants.

Garden Events

We organize community gardening days during the summer, where our gardeners are present. The program includes topical gardening: sowing, planting seedlings, fertilizing, harvesting, etc.

During community garden days, we also play music in the garden and heat up the grill. Bring your own barbecues and the bravest can even bring karaoke.

You don't need to register for the events separately and you can bring a friend. Relaxed atmosphere in good company is guaranteed.
